SUMMARY:Concert 2: Bruckner's Eighth Symphony
DESCRIPTION;ENCODING=QUOTED-PRINTABLE:Event Name: Concert 2: Bruckner's Eighth Symphony=0D=0AEvent Url: http://www.artsboston.org/event/detail/440860429=0D=0AEvent Date Begin: 2010-11-18=0D=0AEvent Date End: 2010-11-21=0D=0A=0D=0AFor the second concert of the season, the Boston Philharmonic Orchestra performs Bruckner's Eighth Symphony, a noble and glorious work that gives a sense of solace, consolation and hope. The first movement is dark and tragic, a representation of universal suffering. By contrast, the second movement explodes with great joy. The third movement reflects Bruckner's sense of spirituality through a melancholy, yet sublime adagio. And finally the fourth movement erupts in triumph over all human tragedy. At Thursday's concert, Maestro Benjamin Zander will explain the works throughout the evening, or attend pre-concert talks Saturday and Sunday to learn more.=0D=0A=0D=0AStart time:November 18 at 7:00pm=0D=0A=November 21 at 3:00pm=0D=0A=
