Her current body of work returns her to painting, in which she explores figural representation through distinctive lines, shapes and gestures. Schuleit studied painting at the Rhode Island School of Design and has been an artist-in-residence and guest lecturer at MIT, Smith, Brown, and Bowdoin universities. Schuleit has been the recipient of fellowships from the MacDowell Colony, Yaddo, and the MacArthur Foundation, among other prestigious awards.
