SUMMARY:Travel & Taste Grenada: Rainforests, Spices and Wrecks
DESCRIPTION;ENCODING=QUOTED-PRINTABLE:Event Name: Travel & Taste Grenada: Rainforests, Spices and Wrecks=0D=0AEvent Url: http://www.artsboston.org/event/detail/441064411=0D=0AEvent Date Begin: 2011-02-03=0D=0AEvent Date End: 2011-02-03=0D=0A=0D=0AWhile Grenada is most well known to Americans for the U.S. invasion back in 1983 that rescued the American medical students and banished communism from the island, the tiny Caribbean island nation couldn't be more different than that war-torn memory. Her lush, densely vegetated slopes are covered with naturally growing spice plants and exotic flowers, while picturesque waterfalls seem to hide around each corner. With the Caribbean on one side and the Atlantic on the other, her underwater diversity rivals that of her topside. Beyond the natural beauty, her people embrace Americans and still celebrate their Thanksgiving Day in remembrance of the U.S. invasion of 1983. Join us for scenes of rainforest and spice production and the underwater splendor and world-famous ship wrecks. Location-themed buffet dinner and lecture or lecture only. Pre-registration required for dinner.=0D=0A=0D=0AStart time:Dinner at 6:30 pm, Lecture at 7:30 pm. Pre-registration required for dinner.
