X: Altered 'Scapes is a group exhibition that challenges the typical vision of the landscape subject. Although nature and urban scene paintings are standard feature in the local art arena, this group of artists present a different view including the capacity of the figure to alter their environment. The fifteen featured artists present landscapes that, unlike that of traditional landscape painting, encompass urban, industrial, macro and nature-based objects--from Ryan Johnson's relationship divided by the highway median and Gil Blank'sfamily floating on an average of their skin tones, to Chris Ballantyne's architected communities, the artists in Altered 'Scapes are creating altered spaces for their figures to exist.=0D=0A==0D=0A=Sting!
