Dunn, mellow on the bass, and Asser, on lead guitar, mandolin, and harmonica, are both adept vocalists as well and self-described 'well-seasoned' musicians. The third member of this and eclectic and impressive acoustic trio is high-energy and exceptionally appealing lead singer Meghan Larson. Larson, who has been singing for fun all her life, recently began singing in bands, and in Slim Chance Acoustic has found the style and the group with which she feels at home and inspired. Every minute of their performances demonstrates the magic of this match! For more information, go to www.myspace.com/slimchanceacoustic.=0D=0A=Outrageous Fortune is a Boston-based acoustic early jazz and blues trio. Their repertoire features early jazz (Duke Ellington and Louis Armstrong); blues and jug band music (Robert Johnson and the Memphis Jug Band); and a dollop of folk music (Old-time Appalachian, Guthrie, and Dylan). The trio is Chris Welles on guitar; Rod Thomas on harmonicas; and Dan Dick on jug, washboard, upright bass, banjo, flutes, and kitchen utensils. Audiences are wowed by their instrumental virtuosity, and are delighted by their smooth three-part vocal harmonies, their strong groove, and the abundant joy that infuses every performance. Outrageous Fortune has been bringing smiles to New England audiences since 1998 at coffeehouses, festivals, clubs, public libraries, and private events.=0D=0A= =0D=0A=The Second Friday Coffeehouse is greater Boston's original all-benefit coffeehouse.
