Emphasis is on developing narrative and sustained cohesiveness through strategies of approach, selection, sequencing, and edit of photographs for final presentation in a book/monograph, exhibition or portfolio.  Publish, prepare for exhibition, create a limited edition, or prepare a portfolio for graduate school. Critiques and field trips will be complimented by close examination of contemporary and classic fine art and documentary projects by major photographers. The instructor's own professional career as a curator–as well as photographer and photographic historian– will add a unique dimension to this course.
