Many of these species breed here in Massachusetts, while numerous others are pausing to refuel on their way to the northern hardwood and boreal forests of northern New England and Canada. Warblers play an important ecological role in the woodlands they inhabit and have been instrumental in expanding our understanding of ecological niches.
