SUMMARY:Avian Photography Workshop
DESCRIPTION;ENCODING=QUOTED-PRINTABLE:Event Name: Avian Photography Workshop=0D=0AEvent Url: http://www.artsboston.org/event/detail/441198869=0D=0AEvent Date Begin: 2011-04-21=0D=0AEvent Date End: 2011-04-21=0D=0A=0D=0AAvian photography is a wonderful way to enhance our experiences studying and observing birds. Not only can it teach us about the behavior and ecology of birds by forcing us to slow down and spend more time with individual birds, but it also, if done well, leaves us with artistic images, which we can use to revisit our experiences. In this two-part workshop Brooks Matthewson will discuss the basics of bird photography in the classroom (in Story Chapel), and then put to practice these concepts in the field. Topics which will be discussed include choosing the right telephoto lens, understanding light, the holy trinity of exposure, creating sharp images, important compositional techniques, thoughts on getting close to birds without frightening them, the use of fill flash, and creating ecologically meaningful images. Photographers of all levels are welcome! Please bring your own equipment.=0D=0A=0D=0AStart time:Thursday, April 21 at 6 p.m. and Saturday, April 23 at 7 a.m.
