The opera was first performed in the ghetto and was subsequently shown there a total of 55 times within the time span of two and half years. It would be put on traditionally to welcome the Red Cross visits to the camp in order to impress them that the Jews were being treated humanely in the camps. Ironically not only were the conditions in that camp terrible behind the make shift scenes, but in retrospect all children performers including the opera librettist and composer ended up being sent to Auschwitz. Only four of the many children from the cast survived the war, many of them were repeatedly replaced, as their young fellow cast members were being sent 'east'. Here is a link with more information about the origin of the opera and its production days in Terezin.=0D=0A==0D=0A=http://holocaustmusic.ort.org/places/theresienstadt/brundibar/ =0D=0A==0D=0A=We were planning for the original performance dates to mark the international Holocaust Memorial Day. Our cast and directors were originally asked to present the opera at the Dallas and Fort Worth Holocaust museum in April 2011 but this plan fell through due to budgetary reasons. In light of that we decided to to hold the opera performance in a local venue at the date as close as possible to the Holocaust Memorial Day we could secure.=0D=0A==0D=0A=OPERA CAST: =0D=0A=Mime / Master of Ceremonies / Doctor / Percussion - Jimmy Dure (Brockton)=0D=0A=Mother - Ali Ivkovich (Plymouth)=0D=0A=Little Joe - Tony Cutillo (Mansfield)=0D=0A=Annette - Anne Claire Grammar (Mansfield)=0D=0A=Brundibar - Steven Williamson (Mansfield)=0D=0A=Ice cream Man - Caitlin McGrail (Sharon)=0D=0A=Ice Cream Man's Assistant - Kyetesie Heller (Sharon)=0D=0A=Baker - Emma Safran (Sharon)=0D=0A=Bakers' assistant - Harper Edwards (Plymouth)=0D=0A=Milkman - Bryon Harris (Connecticut)=0D=0A=Policewoman - Rachel Kurland (Sharon)=0D=0A=Sparrow - Juliana Torti (Norfolk)=0D=0A=Cat - Rebekah Daly (Sharon)=0D=0A=Dog / Fido - Alia SanFilippo (Plymouth)=0D=0A=Windows / Schoolchildren - Prep Choir=0D=0A=Adults - Full Choir=0D=0A==0D=0A=Musicians: =0D=0A=Viola / Voice of Brundibar - Alexia DelGiudice (Easton)=0D=0A=Violin - Jessie Hanson=0D=0A=Piano - Giovanni Longo=0D=0A==0D=0A=Directors:=0D=0A=Conductor / Music & Artistic Director - Andrea DelGiudice=0D=0A=Student Intern co-Director & Narrator - Tal Heller (Sharon)=0D=0A=Props Mistress - Kyetesie Heller (Sharon)=0D=0A=Art Director - Alexia DelGiudice=0D=0A==0D=0A=Annual Voice Recital to follow the opera:=0D=0A==0D=0A=The second part of the evening will be our Annual DelGiudice Vocal Arts Academy Voice Recital and will feature our classical voice students ages 11-18 and a number of adult professional opera singers, students of International Soprano, Andrea DelGiudice.=0D=0A==0D=0A=Event Production by: =0D=0A=DELGIUDICE VOCAL ARTS ACADEMY & STUDIOS=0D=0A=DelGiudice Voice Studios=0D=0A=853 7th Ave, New York City=0D=0A=306 Purchase Street, Easton Ma.=0D=0A=www.andreadelgiudice.com=0D=0A=0D=0AStart time:7:00pm - One Show Only
