On the quincentennial anniversary of his birth, &ldquo;Vasari/500&rdquo; will bring together an international group of scholars to reassess the Tuscan artist's central, if deeply contested, role in charting histories of the Renaissance.=0D=0A==0D=0A=Events will begin on Thursday with a plenary lecture by Alessandro Nova, Kunsthistorisches Institut in Florenz, sponsored by the Harvard Art Museums. On Friday and Saturday, featured symposium participants include Carmen Bambach, The Metropolitan Museum of Art; Elizabeth Cropper, Center for Advanced Study in the Visual Arts; Massimiliano Rossi, Universit&agrave; del Salento; and Philip Sohm, University of Toronto.
