Mellon Fellow in Paintings Conservation, Museum of Fine Arts; Lynette Roth, Daimler-Benz Associate Curator of the Busch-Reisinger Museum, Division of Modern and Contemporary Art, Harvard Art Museums=0D=0A==0D=0A=In light of an ongoing revitalization of Adolphus Busch Hall (home to the Busch-Reisinger Museum from 1921 to 1991), Orsini and Roth will examine the unique history of the building and the collections still housed within it. Special emphasis will be placed on frescoes by American muralist Lewis W. Rubenstein, executed in 'true fresco' technique and recently the subject of significant conservation treatment. Controversial even before their completion in 1936, the murals depict contemporary history in the guise of Nordic and Teutonic mythology.=0D=0A==0D=0A=This series considers objects from more than one point of view.
