This January, the Boston Center for Adult Education (BCAE) will allow you to test your own mental might, as it offers an introductory class on the most popular board game in the world. In 'Checkmate: Beginners Chess' students will learn the game's history, rules, setup, movement and strategies from the president of the Boston Chess Club and Class A rated player, Hector Perez. Perez will explain the intricacies of one of the world's most universally challenging and rewarding games.
