Space is limited; reservations are suggested—call 617-524-3158 or email lghouseconcerts@aim.com.=0D=0A==0D=0A=Ensemble 44, so named for the Studio 44 in Boston in which it rehearses, came into existence out of a =0D=0A=wish to explore the works of Baroque women composers. Their first CD, Six by Three: 6 Sonatas by 3 =0D=0A=Women Composers, was released last year and contains works of Elisabeth-Claude Jacquet de la Guerre, =0D=0A=Anna Amalia von Preusen, and Isabella Leonarda. =0D=0A==0D=0A=Karen Burciaga (violin) discovered early music while an undergraduate at Vanderbilt University. She =0D=0A=later earned an MM in Early Music Performance from the Longy School of Music, studying violin with =0D=0A=Dana Maiben and viol with Jane Hershey. She has performed with the King's Noyse, Newport =0D=0A=Baroque, Exsultemus, the Arcadia Players, La Follia Austin, and other period ensembles, including =0D=0A=appearances at the Boston, Bloomington, and Amherst Early Music Festivals. She is a founding =0D=0A=member of Seven Times Salt, an English consort, and Long & Away, a consort of viols. Karen has =0D=0A=coached violin band and masque performances on the string faculty of the Texas TOOT in Austin. Her =0D=0A=other musical interests include traditional Scottish fiddle and dance, American shape-note singing, =0D=0A=and Italian Renaissance dance. =0D=0A==0D=0A=Hannah Davidson (viola da gamba) began performing early music with the Quadrivium, under the =0D=0A=direction of Marleen Montgomery, and can be heard on the Revels CD Sing We Now of Christmas. =0D=0A=Having soon discovered a love for the viol, she went on to study with Sarah Cunningham, Laura =0D=0A=Jeppesen, and at the Longy School of Music with Jane Hershey, as well as in intensive summer =0D=0A=workshops. She has performed on the SoHIP summer concert series with La Donna Musicale, =0D=0A=Ensemble Soleil and Heliotrope Consort, and has several times been a recipient of the Silbiger Grant =0D=0A=Award to bring music for viols and voices to church services. Hannah served as President of the Viola =0D=0A=da Gamba Society of New England from 2006-2010 and remains active in the VdGS-NE overseeing the =0D=0A=newsletter and organizing workshops. =0D=0A==0D=0A=Teri Kowiak (voice) is a professional musician based in the Boston area. A recent graduate of the =0D=0A=Longy School of Music's Early Music Program, she specializes in the historically-inspired performance =0D=0A=of medieval, renaissance and baroque music while also performing a wide range of styles including =0D=0A=classical, jazz, traditional Irish/Celtic, and premiering new compositions. She is a featured vocalist on =0D=0A=the premier solo album Redline by bagpiper Michael McNutt (of Tartanic) and has performed with =0D=0A=Cappella Clausura, the Seraphim Singers, the Harvard Early Music Society and the choir of the =0D=0A=Church of Our Saviour in Brookline, MA. Recent performances include the role of La Poésie in =0D=0A=Harvard Early Music Society's Les Plaisirs de la Paix in December and her debut with Spanish baroque =0D=0A=group El Fuego in January. =0D=0A==0D=0A=Kathleen McDougald (harpsichord) holds a masters degree in harpsichord performance from Longy =0D=0A=School of Music. She is the creator of Boston-based Studio 44 and founding member of Ensemble 44. =0D=0A=She has been organist and choir director at Church of the Good Shepherd in Woburn and other =0D=0A=Massachusetts churches. She taught music in the Boston Public Schools, and has taught privately for =0D=0A=many years. =0D=0A==0D=0A=Built in 1760, the Loring-Greenough House, a local landmark listed on the Massachusetts and National Registers of Historic Places, is located at 12 South Street (at the Civil War Monument) in Jamaica Plain, MA. It is owned and managed by the non-profit Jamaica Plain Tuesday Club, Inc. as a historic house museum and site for art and music presentations. The Loring-Greenough House is wheelchair accessible.
