DESCRIPTION;ENCODING=QUOTED-PRINTABLE:Event Name: The Natural World=0D=0AEvent Url: http://www.artsboston.org/event/detail/441602713=0D=0AEvent Date Begin: 2012-05-19=0D=0AEvent Date End: 2012-05-19=0D=0A=0D=0AThis concert celebrates nature and our relation to it and includes choral gems by Dvo?ák, Hindemith and Schubert, several spring madrigals, Grieg selections for piano, and the premiere of Temple of Nature, a new choral work by Patricia Van Ness. Alan Grossman, now in his 17th year as director of The Master Singers, is dedicated to commissioning and presenting new choral works. For Temple of Nature, composer Patricia Van Ness has drawn inspiration from a poem written by Erasmus Darwin, grandfather of Charles Darwin, whose words anticipated the theory of evolution by 65 years. Her luminous work evokes the progression of life from micro-organisms to civilized society. Temple of Nature was specially commissioned for The Master Singers of Lexington with the generous support of two anonymous donors.=0D=0A=0D=0AStart time:8:00 pm
