This important collection was first featured in the exhibition Private Treasures: Four Centuries of Master Drawings co-organized by the Pierpont Morgan Library & Museum and the National Gallery of Art in 2007. =0D=0A='Drawn to Excellence' focuses primarily on French and Italian sheets from the fifteenth to the early nineteenth century, charting the use of drawing by some of the most accomplished artists from the Renaissance through Romanticism. Featured artists include Agnolo Bronzino, Annibale Carracci, Eugene Delacroix, Jean-Honore Fragonard, Giovanni Battista Tiepolo, and Giorgio Vasari, among others. This exhibition provides a unique opportunity to see excellent examples of draftsmanship as well as the range of styles and uses of drawings during four centuries of artistic production in Europe. The exhibition will travel to the Herbert F. Johnson Museum, Cornell University (January 26-April 21, 2013).
