Six dance companies will convene at the Dance Complex on August 10 to pick themes at random, and create brand new choreography overnight. The new work will debut in a concert on August 11, for curious audiences to see just what can be accomplished in one night. The festival will serve to build the local dance community by housing several artists in one building for a long block of time, and also to give back to the Boston community, that makes art possible. All profits from the festival will be donated to the Young at Arts Program, part of the South Boston Institute for a Healthier Community/Community Health Center.=0D=0A==0D=0A=The 2012 participating companies and choreographers are Monkeyhouse, People Movers Dance, 1,000 Virtues Dance, Sarah Mae Gibbons & Renee Amirault, Synthesis Aesthetics Project, and Luminarium Dance. The culminating concert will feature the work of the aforementioned companies, as well as an opening performance by young members of Jo-Mé Dance. This program is supported in part by a grant from the Boston Cultural Council, a local agency which is funded by the Massachusetts Cultural Council, administrated by the Mayor's Office of ?Arts, Tourism, and Special Events.=0D=0A==0D=0A=Tickets to Luminarium's 24 Hour ChoreoFest can be purchased at www.LuminariumDance.org/buy-tickets, or at the door.
