Currently a professor at both Macalester College and the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, MN, where he also directs each school's African Music Ensemble. Additionally, he is the James Marsh Professor-at-Large at the University of Vermont in Burlington, VT. Mensah is also the director of Sankofa, a Ghanaian Folklore and Dance Ensemble and a member of Speaking in Tongues, a four-piece group both based out of the Twin Cities. An accomplished composer who has released multiple albums with tremendous success, he has performs extensively in the United States, Latin America, Africa, and China.
