The October 28 program will feature members of the Berkshire Bach Ensemble along with renowned harpsichordist Kenneth Cooper. In the genial atmosphere of the First Congregational Church, Great Barrington, the complete performance of Bach's Inventions, a Berkshire premiere, is designed to amuse, stimulate, move and entertain the audience. First in the program are all of the familiar Two-Part Inventions - some of the most magnificent miniatures ever created - played by Kenneth Cooper, as written by Bach for solo harpsichord. After an intermission, Dr. Cooper will be joined by six virtuoso players, all Bach lovers, from the Berkshire Bach Ensemble for the complete set of Three-Part Inventions ('Sinfonias') in chamber versions for strings and winds, allowing one to experience even more deeply Bach's astonishing range of character, emotion, design and contrapuntal fantasy. To hear all these wonderful gems in order as one complete work is a rarity, a unique Bach event. The Berkshire Bach Society is dedicated to sharing the vast and wonderful repertoire of music by Johann Sebastian Bach, his contemporaries, the composers who influenced his work and those he inspired to achieve musical timelessness. Berkshire Bach seeks to reach the broadest possible audience for the works of J.S. Bach and his musical peers, mentors and followers, engaging the finest musicians available. As the oldest continuing member-based non-profit music organization in Berkshire County, Berkshire Bach focuses on enriching audiences with concerts that range from solo instrumental recitals to large choral works with full orchestra. www.berkshirebach.org=0D=0A=0D=0AStart time:2:30pm
