'Suite, Op. 29' for clarinets and piano quartet displays Schoenberg's playful side as he embeds melodic references to his wife among dance movements. William Kraft's 'Settings from Pierrot Lunaire' (featuring guest soprano Sarah Pelletier) was commissioned for the 75th anniversary of the original and sets a different compilation of verses from Giraud's celebrated poetry cycle on the artist's quest for purity.
