SUMMARY:YOU SHOULD BE HERE, ______?
DESCRIPTION;ENCODING=QUOTED-PRINTABLE:Event Name: YOU SHOULD BE HERE, ______?=0D=0AEvent Url: http://www.artsboston.org/event/detail/441657010=0D=0AEvent Date Begin: 2013-02-21=0D=0AEvent Date End: 2013-03-22=0D=0A=0D=0A Lowell artists Michael F. Dailey and Gilbert Gandia will be bringing their collaborative efforts to The Lily Pad gallery this month, at a show featuring all new large works and live music.=0D=0A==0D=0A=Dailey and Gandia's paintings are vibrant and constantly carry the viewer through a journey of exploration and discovery. The viewer's eye moves from clean crisp marker to dirty abstract depictions of wrenched faces. There is always an interesting cast of characters employed in the paintings they've constructed, on anything from metal plates to bedroom doors.=0D=0A=Dailey personally wants the viewer to see that their work has “GUTS!” One could take his sentiment both literally and metaphorically. Paintings are rich and dense in nature, and often figurative in composition. They can also be seen as daring challenges with “guts!”, mixing contemporary styles familiar to abstraction, illustration, and street art graffiti.=0D=0A=“You Should Be Here,_____?” as a title makes reference to our present self and where we are. It will challenge your guts: your mind, your eyes, and your ears.
