It promotes classical music in the city, a community rich with incredible artists of all kinds. The ensemble's musicians have played together in various settings for many years and are excited to bring gems of classical music as well as little known works from the past 400 years to listeners in Somerville. The relationship of the performers with the audience is at the heart of the ensemble's mission. Ray Bradbury's novel Fahrenheit 451, the namesake of the ensemble, was seemingly about books, but among its themes is the alienation of people by technology and the media. In a time when music is accessible on machines anywhere and at any time, the ensemble strives to connect people, to share an experience, and to celebrate live music!=0D=0A=In its first year, Ensemble 451 has received a grant from the Somerville Arts Council, a local agency supported by the Massachusetts Cultural Council.=0D=0A=
