SUMMARY:Seeing with a Different Eye: Art by Adults with Asperger Syndrome
DESCRIPTION;ENCODING=QUOTED-PRINTABLE:Event Name: Seeing with a Different Eye: Art by Adults with Asperger Syndrome=0D=0AEvent Url: http://www.artsboston.org/event/detail/50545=0D=0AEvent Date Begin: 2009-10-03=0D=0AEvent Date End: 2009-10-03=0D=0A=0D=0AThe Asperger's Association of New England is proud to announce its third annual “Seeing with a Different Eye: Art by Adults with Asperger Syndrome” exhibition at its fall conference on October 3, 2009. The Asperger Syndrome Connections conference, held annually by AANE, will be taking place on October 2-3 at the John Hancock Hall in Boston; this year's featured speakers are Kari Dunn Buron, MS, and Dr. Tony Attwood, author of The Complete Guide to Asperger's Syndrome. Experience the world through the eyes of artists with Asperger's – this year's exhibit will include new and rarely exhibited works. There will be 29 different artists featured, but the only thing these pieces have in common is that their creators share a diagnosis of Asperger syndrome. With an array of paintings, drawings, photographs, mixed media displays, prints, sculpture and jewelry, the pieces in the exhibit are as unique as the individuals behind them. Asperger syndrome has been garnering more and more public attention lately, from Max Mayer's film Adam to the quirky Abed on NBC's Community to contestant Zev Glassenberg on CBS's The Amazing Race. This exhibit will showcase the talents of local individuals with Asperger's and give people in the community a chance to see the diversity of their creativity first-hand. Featured artwork will be available for sale exclusively at this exhibit. “Seeing with a Different Eye” is free and open to the public from 9am to 5pm on Saturday, October 3, 2009 downstairs in the John Hancock Hall.=0D=0A=0D=0AStart time:9:00am - 5:00pm
