DESCRIPTION;ENCODING=QUOTED-PRINTABLE:Event Name: Harpsichordist Nickolai Sheikov in recital=0D=0AEvent Url: http://www.artsboston.org/event/detail/51665=0D=0AEvent Date Begin: 2009-10-18=0D=0AEvent Date End: 2009-10-18=0D=0A=0D=0ANickolai Sheikov is a Bulgarian born harpsichordist. His Boston solo concert debut was in 2008, a year after completing his Masters Degree at New England Conservatory as a student of John Gibbons. Sheikov's interpretations of Scarlatti and Louis Couperin have been critically acclaimed by audiences as well as musicians such as harpsichordists Peter Sykes and Elaine Comparone. Consequently, Nickolai Sheikov was invited to collaborate with Comparone in a series of concerts presenting works for two harpsichords by composers of the 18th-and 21st-centuries. In chamber music, he often partners with traverso player Andrea LeBlanc and guitar virtuoso Grisha Goryachev. Among 17th-and 18th-century composers, Sheikov's major areas of interest are the keyboard works of J.S. Bach, Domenico Scarlatti, Girolamo Frescobaldi and Louis Couperin.=0D=0A=0D=0AStart time:3pm
