DESCRIPTION;ENCODING=QUOTED-PRINTABLE:Event Name: Film Screening - Word Is Out: Stories of Some of Our Lives=0D=0AEvent Url: http://www.artsboston.org/event/detail/52203=0D=0AEvent Date Begin: 2009-11-18=0D=0AEvent Date End: 2009-11-29=0D=0A=0D=0AThe first feature-length documentary about lesbian and gay identity—made by gay filmmakers—startled audiences across the country when it appeared in movie theaters and on TV in 1978. The film brought mainstream attention to gay rights issues and became an icon of the emerging movement of the 1970s. The 26 interview subjects want desperately to be part of society as they grapple to understand why they have to fight for approval. The original film negative was recently restored, and we're proud to present the re-mastered 35 mm print.Co-presented by the Boston LGBT Film Festival.=0D=0A=0D=0AStart time:Wed, Nov 18, 5:10 pm=0D=0A=Fri, Nov 20, 7:30 pm=0D=0A=Fri, Nov 27, 4:50 pm=0D=0A=Sat, Nov 28, 10:15 am=0D=0A=Sun, Nov 29, 11 am
