DESCRIPTION;ENCODING=QUOTED-PRINTABLE:Event Name: Du fond de ma pensee: A concert to benefit earthquake relief efforts in Haiti=0D=0AEvent Url: http://www.artsboston.org/event/detail/56157=0D=0AEvent Date Begin: 2010-02-26=0D=0AEvent Date End: 2010-02-26=0D=0A=0D=0AInspired by the many medical professionals and rescue workers who have given of their time and skill to assist the victims of the recent earthquake in Haiti, some of Boston's finest singers and players of early music have joined forces to assist relief efforts by doing what they do best. Led by soprano Jaya Lakshminarayanan, a former hospital volunteer in Haiti's interior, they have assembled a program of psalms interpreted by French renaissance composers le Jeune and Goudimel, modern New England composers Karl Henning and Steven Serpa, and the German baroque master Johann Sebastian Bach. Proceeds from the concert go to support the relief effort of the Hôpital Albert Schweitzer in Deschapelles, Haiti. Hôpital Albert Schweitzer, founded in 1956 by Larimer and Gwen Mellon, provides medical care and community health and development programs for more than 300,000 impoverished people in the Artibonite Valley of central Haiti. Visiting medical professionals from North America and abroad work with a permanent Haitian staff of almost 550. Financial support comes from partner organizations and private individuals around the world.=0D=0A=0D=0AStart time:8pm
