Leading off will the Mobius Group, led by Jed Speare (laptop electronics), with Derek Hoffend on additional electronics, James Coleman on theremin, and Tom Plsek playing trombone. Says Speare of the group's work, “We have an unusual sound due to the combination of acoustic and electronic instruments, and a paradoxical yet fluid gestural/textural approach that is influenced by our various backgrounds in ensemble and soundscape orientations and settings.” Speare leads Mobius, a pioneering space for experimental art of all kinds.  The horn trio Cereal will close. Cereal is a Boston-based improvising collective made up of Keiichi Hashimoto (trumpet), Jesse Kaminsky (alto saxophone) and Kelly Roberge (tenor saxophone). The band's most recent incarnation as a horn trio draws on the influence of jazz and folk music as well as drone and meditational practices to explore the liminal states of sound.=0D=0A=0D=0AStart time:8pm
