Jay Bolotin: The Jackleg TestamentPresented by Smith College Museum of Art at Smith College Museum of Art June 29-September 9, 2012 “The Jackleg Testament Part I: Jack and Eve” is a one-of-a-kind animated, operatic film derived from the crisply styled woodcuts of artist, composer, and performer Jay Bolotin. The film, which reinterprets the story of Adam and Eve as a dark, provocative tale in which Eve is lured from the Garden of Eden by a Jack-in-the-Box, is accompanied by the 40 woodcuts used by the artist to create the images in the film.
