In Music Is Such Art: Choral Music with Texts from Shakespeare
May 30, 2009
Add Review/Comment
Composers through time and around the world have responded to Shakespeare's appreciation for music as the universal communicator supreme among the arts. Hear songs of Shakespeare's clowns and sprites, his tragic maidens, his "sweet and bitter" fools, set to music of "infinite variety." Music set by Ralph Vaughan Williams, John Cook, William Byrd, Finnish Jaakko Mäntyjärvi, and others.
