By Richard N. Goodwin; Directed by Edward Hall

Inspired by his faith and encouraged by his patron Cardinal Maffeo Barberini, devout Catholic Galileo Galilei strives to gain a deeper understanding of the scientific truths that explain his world. But when the politically ambitious Barbarini ascends to become Pope Urban VIII, he realizes that Galileo's discoveries threaten to rock his Church's very foundation and the two old friends find themselves on opposing sides of a battle over reason and faith.

Words, words, words, I'm so sick of words (Eliza Doolittle)--and so many words that produce no insight on a controversial issue that is still being played out with high stakes to our society. ...... Expand

The acting was really good and the costumes and sets were amazing. However, the plot was really dry with a lot of philosophy and physics. Not really my thing.
