BUDDY, BOPPER & VALENS: THEIR LAST SHOW 50 YEARS LATER!
February 8, 2009
Add Review/Comment
On February 3, 1959, the small plane carrying young rock n' roll stars Buddy Holly, Big Bopper, and Ritchie Valens crashed in an Iowa cornfield during a snowstorm-a tragic event immortalized in history and pop culture as "The Day The Music Died." Now 50 years later to the exact week, the last show of these three music legends (part of the "Winter Dance Party" tour, stopping at the Surf Ballroom in Clear Lake, Iowa) will be recreated on the stage of Arlington's Regent Theatre. The concert, produced by Doo-Wop Hall of Fame of America president/founder, Harvey Robbins, stars Brian Best as Buddy Holly, Ernie Valens as Ritchie Valens, and Scott Walker as Big Bopper.
