Coro Allegro, under Artistic Director David Hodgkins, will perform Why I Wake Early, a work by contemporary Massachussetts composer Ron Perera with text from Provincetown-based poet Mary Oliver at 3PM, Church of the Covenant, 67 Newbury Street, Boston. Expressing a reverence for the simple beauties observed in the landscape of New England and Cape Cod, Perera's work was described by The New York Times as "a substantial addition to the choral canon." The concert will also include audience a capella favorites.
