Families are invited to explore the wonders of ancient Egypt as seen in works of art made along the Nile River during the Cogan Family Foundation Vacation Week Adventures at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, from Monday, February 16 through Friday, February 20. Activities during the week include interactive theater performances, gallery tours, and art-making activities that will transport families to the Nile. Kids can create Egyptian-inspired jewelry; draw on fragile materials like papyrus, wood and cloth; use clay to create a work of art, or go on a search for ancient animals in the Egyptian galleries. There will also be opportunities to watch and participate in a special interactive performance, "An Evening at Giza," about Queen Hetepheres (whose tomb was found in Giza, Egypt, during the Harvard-MFA Expedition in 1925), listen to stories about ancient Egypt; and join a Family Gallery Tour focusing on hieroglyphs and their meanings.
