Explore how contemporary art from China is influenced by unprecedented social change and how contemporary artists draw upon or react to traditional Chinese art. Panelists are renowned artist Xu Bing, whose works are on view in Mahjong: Contemporary Chinese Art from the Sigg Collection; Barbara Pollock, author of The Chinese Art Explosion (Art News, Sept. 2008); and Jerome Silbergeld, the P.Y. and Kinmay W. Tang Professor of Chinese Art History at Princeton University. Reservations by March 13.
Lecture is free with museum admission.
