Open House, Reception & Meet the Artist, Tuesday, April 14, 2009, 5pm-8pm. Fine artist, Jim McManus, paints with oil and wax on canvas. Using bold colors imbued with emotion he takes us on a journey of discovery. His paintings are often physical representations of a specific mood, expressing drama, subtlety, excitement or calm, joy or melancholy, warmth or discomfort, or at times, combinations of the above. Using subjects taken from memories of travel, big and small moments in life, or reflections on the human experience, McManus invites us to explore the underlying feel or essence of a personal event. A percentage of the sale of the art will benefit Bay Cove Human Services which serves more than 12,000 individuals and their families each year at more than 100 different program sites throughout Greater Boston and southeastern Massachusetts.
