Violinist Sarita Kwok and pianist Jian Liu will perform at Wellesley in an innovative collaboration with the Hammond Performing Arts Series.The Hammond Performing Arts Series was initiated in the Greater Boston area some 15 years ago with the beliefs that talented music artists deserve performance opportunities and that it is right to enrich the cultural life of the communities in which Hammond does business. Past participants in the Series have gone on to important careers performing on the major stages of the world as soloists, as orchestra members, and in major music festivals. Sarita Kwok has been a prizewinner at the Kloster Schontal International Violin Competition, Germany 1997, Gisborne International Music Competition, New Zealand 1998, and the 7th Wieniawski and Lipinski International Competition for young Violinists, Poland 2000. Ms. Kwok was recently appointed full-time lecturer and faculty at yale University Department of Music, where she directs the musicianship program. This performance will also feature performances by Wellesley student musicians.
