    Margarita Alegria, psychologist, Harvard Medical School; Abelardo Morell, photographer; and Gish Jen, author Becoming an American is a process filled with risk and opportunity. Margarita Alegria discusses her research on immigrant stress and its impact on mental health; award-winning photographer Abelardo Morell talks about his family's flight from Cuba and how being an immigrant influences his art; and writer Gish Jen focuses on her acculturation and her thoughts about living outside the dominant culture.
