    You'll recognize the songs of J.D. Souther from the versions recorded by Brian Wilson, Linda Ronstadt, Don Henley, the Eagles, James Taylor and Bonnie Raitt to name just a few. For most of his 30-year career the Los Angeles-based songwriter and performer has resolutely shunned the spotlight his friends have basked in. Souther's success has more often been measured through the artists who prospered from his craft, despite a string of his own solo albums and a top ten hit, "You're Only Lonely". A rare personal appearance by the man who helped lay the foundation for the Southern California country rock sound nearly four decades ago.
