Exhibition: Heavenly and Earthly Delights: Alive in Colorful Display
March 31 - June 9, 2009
View Japanese folding screen paintings from the 17th century that depict the customs, colorful landscapes and clothing found in present-day Tokyo. Used to decorate Japanese rooms and set the mood for the season, screen paintings also function as backdrops for enclosed intimate spaces, celebrations and official ceremonies, including sleeping, writing poetry, giving birth or committing ritual suicide. This exhibit is on display until June 9, 2009. Cost is free with price of admission. For details about this exhibit, contact email@example.com or visit www.worcesterart.org.
