"We made Nixon's enemies list, which was a badge of honor we hold dear to our hearts to this day. So go figure. Who would have guessed? Much less that it would end up being a classic rock song still played around the world, in movies and stuff." Michael Brewer & Tom Shipley are truly two who work as one. Their trademark harmonies, intertwined acoustic guitars, and socially-conscious lyrics carved a unique niche in America's soundboard in the 1970s. Their iconic Top 10 hit One Toke Over The Line was largely responsible for introducing Brewer & Shipley to the masses, yet their music careers neither began nor ended with this one song. Says Michael Brewer, "We were never about singles. Every song on our albums (Weeds, Tarkio) was just as important as the next one. All of our albums, we meant to be whole packages."
