Hanging Nasturtiums Display
March 31 - April 25, 2009
Each April, in honor of Isabella Gardner's birthday - continuing a tradition she started in 1904 - the Gardner Museum heralds the arrival of spring with a special Hanging Nasturtiums courtyard installation, featuring 20-foot-long nasturtium vines and their bright orange blossom cascading from the third-floor balconies. The display will be on view through mid-April. Museum visitors during this time can also enjoy the edible blossoms' bright flavors in a more modern Gardner tradition: a special Edible Nasturtiums menu at The Gardner Cafe, available from April 1-19, 2009.
