Yellow Taxi Productions (YTP) continues its 2009 season with Lanford Wilson's 1987 play Burn This. The limited run of this modern classic will be May 7-16 at Yellow Taxi's venue located at 5 Pine Street, Extension in the mill yard in Nashua. Tickets range from $10-$25 and are available at www.theatermania.com in the NH section and by calling 603-791-4558. Burn This opens after the funeral of promising dancer in New York City. His dance partner Anna is trying to cope with her grief when the dancer's brother literally bursts into her apartment and her life. The play is an exploration of grief, friendship and lust. The play made stars of John Malkovich and Joan Allen in its original production. Yellow Taxi's productions features Artistic Director Suzanne Delle as Anna. Last seen as Anne Hathaway in The Beard of Avon with YTP, Delle also played the title character in The Countess with the group. In the role of Pale, the intruder, is recent Philadelphia transplant Casey Preston. Preston has appeared in such plays as Speed-the-Plow, West Side Story and I Hate Hamlet. YTP regular Doug Chilson will play Burton, Anna's boyfriend. Chilson was recently seen as Mitch in Tuesdays with Morrie and as Major Arnold in Taking Sides. Shawn Crapo who played DH Lawrence in YTP's production of A Strange Black Passion which traveled to San Francisco Fringe Festival will round out the cast as Larry, Anna's roommate. Yellow Taxi Productions' mission is to produce provocative theatre and Burn This contains language and themes meant only for adults.
