    Kaliya's Tale

    Chhandika and Artistic Director Gretchen Hayden present Greater Boston area's only annual kathak dance show, featuring sixty or so of our students of all ages and levels. The show will include a youth dance drama - the famed story of Krishna and Kaliya the serpent, with music contributed by George Ruckert and Jerry Leake. The show will bring together elements of kathak tradition - storytelling, Indian mythology, compositions passed down...

The show will include a youth dance drama - the famed story of Krishna and Kaliya the serpent, with music contributed by George Ruckert and Jerry Leake. The show will bring together elements of kathak tradition - storytelling, Indian mythology, compositions passed down through generations, and elements of kathak modernity - choreography, multicultural dancers, group compositions.
