May 9, 2009
The Full Moon Celebration at the Harmonic Center of the Universe is scheduled for May 9 (rain date May 16) from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m and will take place in Lowell's Harmony Park. This event will feature an exclusive display of interactive sculpture created by renowned artists that will engage attendees and embrace the park with flowing light and music! Highlights for this family-friendly event include a full program of music, dance, and performances reflective of the community's diverse cultures, with light-themed art activities guided by the community's teen artists. A centerpiece sculpture is being created by acclaimed artists Chris Harvey, Olivia Robinson, and Jesse Stiles. In The Harmonic Center of the Universe, a luminous orb hovers on a 16-foot tall bamboo tripod, swathed in garlands of lights. A seat suspended below the structure will beckon attendees to sit and activate the flow of animated lights and music. This event is free and open to the public.
