Urbanity Dance Project presents CAGE FREE
May 1 - May 2, 2009
Cage Free is the debut of original choreography by 7 Urbanity dancers, accompanied by the original costume design of 3 local fashion designers. In "Cage Free," thirty dancers create a physical world that challenges the emotional line between imprisonment and freedom. Inspired by urban bird cages, man-made flight machines and even couture superhero capes, Cage Free explores images of flight while finding hope in community consciousness.
*Sat May 2nd at 2pm will be a teen-focused performance with a post show Question & Answer and presentation of the inaugural Urbanity Dance Scholarship, $500 to a high school Senior who writes the winning essay on the topic of balancing dance in college. This performance is also open to the public.
