Max Raabe, the wry, unsmiling and nonchalantly charismatic leader of the Palast Orchester, created a sophisticated musical time capsule dedicated to the high style and musical glory of the 1920s and 30s. From the refinement of Fred Astaire to the romantic ballads of Kurt Weill and Bing Crosby, the rhythms of Benny Goodman to the seductions of Marlene Dietrich, the precision of the recreations is uncanny. The elegant decadence of pre-war Berlin lives again in the historic Paramount Theatre!
