The Boston New Music Initiative Inaugural Concert

The Boston New Music Initiative is pleased to announce the program for its April concert, scheduled for Thursday, April 15 at St. John’s Episcopal Church in Jamaica Plain, Massachusetts. The event begins at 7:30 pm and is free and open to the public, with a suggested donation of $10 at the door. The concert is the second in a three-concert series by the Boston New Music Initiative hosted by JP Concerts at St. John’s. All works on the April program were written within the past five years and were chosen following an international call for scores. The concert will feature the work of Mr. Nolan Stolz (Catharsis II), Ms. Beth Karp (Phyrgia), Ms. Dale Trumbore (Sara Teasdale Songs), Ms. Erin Huelskamp (A Mind-dependent phenomenon), Mr. Tolga Yayalar (Terâneler), and Mr. Derek David (Fugue from Tre Scherzi). The works by Ms. Karp and Ms. Huelskamp will be world premieres. Amongst those performing on the concert will be soprano Sarah Berggren; pianists Trevor Berens, Beth Karp, and Leah Kosch; violinists Olga Patramanskaya, Sam Stapleton and Quan Yuan; violists Matthew Davies, Veronica Dicker, and Rebecca Matayoshi; and cellists Analissa Cecilia Martinez, David Meyer, and Will Roseliep.
