Any Dream Will Do! Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice's entertaining family musical retelling of the biblical story of Joseph, his devoted father, his jealous brothers, and his incredible series of adventures. Filled with spectacular costumes and high energy dance numbers, the story is told through a variety of musical styles - everything from country to calypso to rock 'n' roll.       My wife and I attended the first matinee, and I don't think more than 60% of the seats were filled. But the performers went at it just as if it had been a packed house. It was the third time I'd seen... Expand

      My wife and I attended the first matinee, and I don't think more than 60% of the seats were filled. But the performers went at it just as if it had been a packed house. It was the third time I'd seen the show in the past 20 years, and I think it was done more for laughs than the previous two productions I'd seen. I thought the slapstick was pushed a bit too hard. But that could be just me. In all, it was great entertainment. The cast were all first-rate actors, singers and dancers. The costuming was wonderful. The staging, with the center circle lifting up the star of each scene was effective, but seemed to get a little stale. The only glitch that I noticed was when one of the supporting actors had trouble with his microphone. The finale was a nice touch, reprising the entire story while bringing up the various performers for curtain calls. And getting the audience out of their seats at the end to clap, whistle and sing made everyone feel like part of the show. Definitely a fun time. Collapse

      I took my entire family to see Joseph (including a teenager). The performance was excellent and kept everyone's attention. BRAVO!

      Prior to bankruptcy, NSMT could always be counted on for top quality productions. As a multi-year season ticket holder I can tell you I had never, not once, seen a musical that lacked in talent or... Expand

      Prior to bankruptcy, NSMT could always be counted on for top quality productions. As a multi-year season ticket holder I can tell you I had never, not once, seen a musical that lacked in talent or effort. I'm pleased to say things are no different under new ownership. "Joseph" was a blast. The ensemble's clearly having fun; you get the feeling the joyous energy level would be no different if performed before an empty house. For those unfamiliar with "Joseph" it's a show very dependent on supporting players. Even if the role of Joseph is well cast - and it is with a sweetly voiced Fedorov - the show will still fail without gangbuster support from a 20 child choir, 11 "brothers" and a host of ladies. Yes, it's true, this giant cast rises to the occasion with more than one scene stealing performance that'll put a smile on your face. See this show and remind yourself of how lucky we are to have this theater in our backyard. Collapse

      Joseph & the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat at the newly renovated North Shore Music Theater was a real treat. Superb singing, outstanding performances and genuine comic relief that left me laughing out loud. Although the highly marketed cast inclusion of Anthony Fedorov (4th season American Idol) gave a great performance, I have to give props to the comedic genius of Daniel Levine - playing the part of Joseph's brother, Napthali. He stole the show. Well, he and the ensemble of children of all ages that infused a youthful innocence with endearing moments of childhood charm. Make a trip out to Beverly. You won't be disappointed. Collapse
