    The School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, will honor artist and alumnus Omer Fast at the 15th Annual Medal Award Gala on May 1, 2010. The award honors individuals who have made a significant impact on the art world.

    Omer Fast explores how fact, fiction, memory and history are increasingly obscured and manipulated in today’s world. He blurs the lines of reality, creating stories with snippets of films, video and dialect from personal interviews creating work is layered, complex and riveting viewing.

    The Medal Award Gala is just one way that the School raises funds to support the education of our artists. The need is critical—73% of SMFA students receive financial aid. Proceeds from the event directly support student scholarships, and make possible the inspired education that drives SMFA students to succeed.
