A double dose of original singer-songwriter action as Boston Music Award nominees Erin McKeown and Kris Delmhorst trade sets in this interesting contrast of styles. As a multi-instrumentalist, Erin’s become in demand as a session player, recording vocals, piano, bass lines and of course guitar tracks for other artists’ records (including Kris) while steadily working material that became her newest CD, Hundreds of Lions. With Shotgun Singer, Kris Delmhorst has trained one of the most distinct voices in American music on a series of gracefully open lyrics and figures that transcend genre, ranging into the borderlands between indie-rock and folk.
