May 10 - May 24, 2010
You never let things go to waste. And you never let go. Even if that means piling up your attic with old “valuables” because you live by the saying “One man’s trash is another man’s treasure.” Make the most of your everyday valuables at the Boston Center for Adult Education (BCAE) with their new workshop “Antiques: The Ultimate Recyclable.” This course will raise your awareness for collectable items and alternate uses for antiques. The workshop will also demonstrate how to “go green” by recycling everyday items to earn money or by using items in new innovative ways. Discussions will include trends in antiques and collectibles. The instructor will research and discuss an item that students are asked to bring to class, so don’t throw out that “junk” because it might be an unknown treasure! This three session workshop will be held on Mondays from 7:45 PM - 9:45 PM; starting May 10, 2010, ending May 24, 2010. The workshop is $110.00 for non-members and $96.00 for members. Instructor: Lisa Mediano inherited her love of antiques and collectibles from her mother, who dragged her to many yard sales during her youth. Lisa currently consults with auction houses and sells antiques at venues such as Brimfield and SOWA markets as well as Ebay. She also owns and operates a law and real estate office. Registration is necessary. Please visit www.bcae.org or call the Boston Center for Adult Education at 617-267-4430 to sign up.
